What is Asian Reversal?
Asian Reversal is a pre-match GoalLineExpert signal that tracks meaningful changes in the direction of the Pinnacle Asian Handicap market.
The signal is not triggered by a simple odds drop. GoalLineExpert looks for a genuine reversal in the relative prices of the two sides, then waits to see whether the new market direction remains strong enough to be confirmed.
What does a market reversal mean?
A reversal occurs when the relative order of the two Asian Handicap prices crosses from one side to the other. The two prices must also move in opposite directions and the movement must be large enough to qualify as a meaningful change rather than normal market noise.
The current detection logic requires a clear crossing gap together with minimum movement thresholds for the individual and combined price changes.
Why is a detected reversal not sent immediately?
A newly detected reversal enters a monitoring state first. GoalLineExpert continues observing the same Asian Handicap line before treating it as a confirmed signal.
The current confirmation process requires the new direction to remain present for a minimum period, pass consecutive qualifying checks and maintain sufficient separation between the two prices. There must also still be enough time before kick-off.
This confirmation layer helps distinguish a sustained market change from a brief price crossover.
What can happen after detection?
Confirmed
The new market direction holds long enough and with sufficient separation to become an active Asian Reversal signal.
Reverted
If the market crosses back to the previous direction before confirmation, the detected reversal is marked as reverted rather than promoted to a signal.
Line removed
If the tracked Asian Handicap pair disappears repeatedly while confirmation is pending, the event can be closed as a removed line.
Expired
If there is no longer enough time before kick-off to complete the confirmation process, the event can expire without becoming a confirmed signal.
Can the direction change again after confirmation?
Yes. Markets continue to move. GoalLineExpert can detect a later reversal against an already confirmed direction. When that new direction independently passes confirmation, the system can register a direction update and keep the currently representative signal.
This prevents older signals from remaining active when the market has clearly moved to a new confirmed direction.
Does every confirmed technical reversal become a production signal?
No. GoalLineExpert applies an additional production-filter layer to selected Asian Handicap line, price and confirmation-gap combinations. These filters are maintained from observed performance and can evolve as more data becomes available.
The public performance view is designed to represent the signals that satisfy the current production rules rather than every raw technical reversal detected by the monitor.
What do Home and Away mean?
The signal side identifies the team supported by the confirmed market direction. The displayed Asian Handicap line belongs to that selected Home or Away side.
For example, a signal can be shown as Home -0.50, Away +0.25 or another supported Asian Handicap line depending on the market at confirmation.
How is an Asian Reversal result settled?
Results are settled according to standard Asian Handicap mathematics using the confirmed signal side and effective handicap line.
Whole and half lines can result in WIN, PUSH or LOSS. Quarter lines are split into two half-stake handicap legs, which means the final result can also be HALF_WIN or HALF_LOSS.
When a fixture finishes after extra time or penalties, the Asian Handicap result is evaluated from the regular-time score used by the settlement system rather than the extra-time or penalty score.
What do W / HW / P / HL / L mean?
The Asian Reversal Dashboard preserves the full Asian Handicap settlement instead of reducing every signal to a simple win or loss:
- W — Win
- HW — Half Win
- P — Push
- HL — Half Loss
- L — Loss
VOID results are tracked separately and are excluded from graded bets.
How are Profit and ROI calculated?
The dashboard uses the actual unit profit generated by each Asian Handicap settlement. This means half wins, pushes and half losses are reflected through their real settlement value instead of being treated as full wins or full losses.
ROI is calculated from accumulated profit units divided by graded bets. VOID results are excluded from the graded-bet count.
What does “Reversal held” mean?
Reversal held shows how often the confirmed market direction was still present near kick-off when closing market data is available. It is an additional market-behaviour metric and is separate from whether the Asian Handicap selection ultimately won or lost.
How should Asian Reversal be used?
