Dropping Odds

Quick answer

Public football odds-movement monitor comparing the first tracked price with the latest stored bookmaker price, with filters, charts, reversal detection and confirmed Premium Reversal alerts.

Dropping Odds is GoalLineExpert's public football market-movement monitor. It compares the first price recorded by GoalLineExpert with the latest successfully stored bookmaker price and highlights where pre-match odds have moved.

The page is an analysis and decision-support tool. A falling price, rising price, reversal badge or high Movement Score describes observed market behaviour; it does not guarantee the final result of the match or a profitable betting outcome.

Which matches appear on the page?

The main football table is built from upcoming fixtures that are still in a not-started state. By default, the page covers the current date and the following two dates.

The default view uses Bet365, all supported markets, all movement directions and no minimum-drop threshold. The user can change the date range, bookmaker, market, movement type, minimum drop and search query.

The current football monitor works with Bet365, Pinnacle, 1xBet and Unibet data where available. Selecting a specific bookmaker keeps each displayed match group tied to that bookmaker; prices from different bookmakers are not merged into one synthetic market row.

What do the summary cards mean?

The four summary cards at the top of the page do not all use exactly the same scope.

Matches, Drops and Max Drop provide a broad market overview for today and the following two days across the four monitored bookmakers — Bet365, Pinnacle, 1xBet and Unibet — for fixtures that have not yet started. These three cards do not change with the bookmaker, market, movement or search filters applied to the table below.

Updated is different. It uses the currently filtered and grouped result set and shows the newest GoalLineExpert updated_at processing timestamp found among those rows.

Therefore the hero Updated value describes processing freshness for the current filtered dataset. It is not necessarily the time of the latest real bookmaker price change. For source-level freshness, inspect the snapshot/Last change information in the table or chart detail.

Which football markets are tracked?

The current monitor can process:

  • Match Winner / 1X2 — Home, Draw and Away;
  • Goals Over/Under — supported goal lines including common half-goal and Asian total lines;
  • Asian Handicap — supported home and away handicap lines;
  • Both Teams To Score — Yes and No;
  • Corners Over/Under — supported corner lines.

Unsupported labels or line formats are skipped by the movement parser and do not become tracked Dropping Odds selections.

What do Opening and Current mean?

Opening is the first price recorded by the GoalLineExpert Dropping Odds monitor for that bookmaker, fixture, market and selection.

It should not be interpreted as the bookmaker's official market-opening price. GoalLineExpert may begin tracking a market after the bookmaker has already published earlier prices.

Current is the latest successfully stored price available to the monitor for the same tracked selection.

How are DROP, RISE and SAME calculated?

For a tracked selection, GoalLineExpert compares the first monitored price with the latest stored price.

  • DROP — the latest price is lower than the first tracked price;
  • RISE — the latest price is higher than the first tracked price;
  • SAME — the monitored price is unchanged.

The displayed movement percentage is based on:

(Opening odd − Current odd) ÷ Opening odd × 100

A positive value therefore represents a price drop. A negative value represents a price rise.

How are matches grouped?

The main table groups data by fixture and bookmaker. Multiple tracked markets for the same match and bookmaker are folded into one match row.

Max Drop is the strongest currently tracked positive drop inside that match/bookmaker group. The expanded detail area can show the strongest dropped markets and the available chart history.

On mobile, the compact card prefers the strongest DROP when at least one current drop exists. If the group contains no current drop, it can instead show the strongest available RISE movement rather than presenting an empty or misleading drop.

What does Changes mean?

For an individual tracked series, the stored samples count increases when the monitor records the first price or detects a price change. Repeated processing of exactly the same price does not increase this count.

Therefore the Changes value in the chart detail represents tracked price observations for that selected series, not the number of cron executions and not the number of times the page has refreshed.

How frequently are the odds updated?

The football odds collector is currently scheduled twice per hour. The Dropping Odds snapper processes the stored football odds every 10 minutes.

This does not mean that every bookmaker price changes every 10 minutes. If the upstream source provides no newer price for a market, the snapper can process the same stored value again without creating a new price-change snapshot.

For this reason, the page should be read as a monitor of the latest successfully stored bookmaker data, not as a second-by-second streaming bookmaker feed.

What do the Updated and Last change times mean?

The desktop table can show both the latest GoalLineExpert processing time and the latest underlying source snapshot time. These values describe different parts of the pipeline and may not always be identical.

Inside the interactive chart detail, Last change is based on the latest source snapshot available for the selected movement series, with a processing-time fallback only when the source snapshot timestamp is unavailable.

Kick-off times in the main Dropping Odds match list are converted from the stored UTC fixture time to the local time of the user's browser/device.

How does the odds chart work?

Expanding a match loads its chart data from the Dropping Odds chart endpoint for that exact fixture and bookmaker.

The chart supports 3H, 6H, 12H, 24H and ALL ranges, with 12H as the current default range.

Real bookmaker snapshots are preserved as real points. For visual continuity, GoalLineExpert also builds a 30-minute carried-value grid between known observations. These carried points do not represent new bookmaker updates; they only carry the last known price forward until another real snapshot is available.

The chart therefore distinguishes between real snapshots and carried values. Larger chart markers identify actual stored bookmaker observations.

What does Velocity mean?

Velocity describes the absolute percentage movement of the selected primary series divided by the elapsed time between its first and last real chart observations.

It is a movement-speed indicator. It is not a probability of winning and it does not establish that a faster move is automatically more valuable.

What is Movement Score?

The interactive chart's Movement Score combines three current characteristics:

  • the absolute size of the primary movement — up to 65 points;
  • the number of tracked price observations for that series — up to 20 points;
  • the number of bookmakers currently represented for the fixture — up to 15 points.

The current calculation uses approximately 1.05 points per percentage point of movement, 1.6 points per tracked change observation and 3 points per bookmaker, subject to the caps above and an overall 1–100 range.

Movement Score is therefore a compact market-activity indicator, not a calibrated success probability, expected-value model or guarantee.

What is a Reversal Signal badge?

The standard Dropping Odds Reversal Signal badge is generated from the currently tracked odds relationship between two opposing or related sides of the same market.

A reversal is detected when the relative price order of the paired selections crosses: the side that was shorter becomes longer, while the other side moves in the opposite relative direction.

The page checks supported pairs such as Home/Draw/Away relationships, the two sides of an Asian Handicap line, Over/Under on the same total line, BTTS Yes/No and opposing Corners selections.

The row-level badge is tied to the strongest relevant visible drop area of the match group. It is a description of a current market crossover, not an independently settled prediction.

What is the Today Reversal Watchlist?

The Today Reversal Watchlist uses the same current-state reversal detection as the normal match rows.

It looks at today's matches inside the currently filtered dataset, keeps the strongest applicable reversal per fixture and displays up to six items ordered mainly by reversal strength and freshness.

It is therefore not a separate global signal feed. Changing the page filters can change which reversal candidates are available to the watchlist.

How are Premium Prematch Reversal signals different?

The Prematch Reversal Signals section is a separate confirmed-signal system focused on the Asian Handicap market. It should not be confused with the ordinary row-level Reversal badge.

The Premium engine tracks a genuine crossover between the two Asian Handicap sides, requires opposing movement, sufficient movement size and separation, and then waits for confirmation rather than sending immediately on the first cross.

The current confirmation process requires a minimum observation period, consecutive qualifying checks, sufficient post-cross separation and enough remaining time before kick-off. A crossing that returns to the previous order can be marked as reverted instead of confirmed.

The page displays only upcoming CONFIRMED Premium Reversal events that satisfy the active delivery/result filters. The visible Premium information can include the active direction, line, confirmed price, confirmation gap, kick-off time, confirmation time and confirmation checks.

These pending Premium signal details are protected server-side. They are available to users with active Diamond access or an active Prematch Reversal add-on. Locked users receive the promotional/locked interface without the underlying pending signal rows in the page HTML.

Does a reversal guarantee the match result?

No. Both the ordinary Reversal badge and the confirmed Premium Reversal system describe detected market behaviour under their respective rules.

A market reversal can still fail as a betting outcome. Reversal information should be evaluated together with the market, match context, price and the user's own risk-management process.

How does CSV export work?

The CSV export uses the current date, bookmaker, market, movement, minimum-drop and search filters. It exports the complete grouped result set after filtering and sorting, not only the currently visible pagination page.

The export includes fields such as match, bookmaker, primary movement, Opening odd, Current odd, Max drop %, Moving selections, Pressure score and Updated.

Moving selections in the CSV means the number of current non-SAME selections inside the grouped match row. It is different from the chart's series-specific Changes value.

The CSV Pressure score is a legacy export metric based on max drop, the number of moving selections and processing recency. It is not the same calculation as the interactive chart's Movement Score.

Is Dropping Odds a historical odds archive?

No. The page is designed primarily as a current pre-match movement monitor. GoalLineExpert periodically cleans older Dropping Odds current, snapshot and mainline records by match date.

The chart history available for an upcoming fixture is useful for understanding its recent tracked movement, but the page should not be treated as a permanent long-term bookmaker odds archive.

Who can use Dropping Odds?

The main football Dropping Odds page, standard match rows, interactive chart and CSV export are publicly accessible.

The separate pending Prematch Reversal signal details require active Diamond access or the dedicated Prematch Reversal add-on.

How should Dropping Odds be used?

Dropping Odds is most useful for identifying where bookmaker prices have moved, comparing the first GoalLineExpert-tracked price with the latest stored value, examining the pace and history of the move and spotting unusual crossovers between related selections.

A larger or faster drop can indicate stronger market movement, but it does not explain the cause with certainty and does not guarantee the final match outcome. Team news, line-ups, bookmaker risk management, market demand and other factors can all contribute to changing prices.

Use the page as market information: inspect the underlying market and chart, check how fresh the latest real snapshot is and make the final decision independently.
